Top Five Key Players for Fantasy Premier League 2025/26 Gameweek 12

FPL Headliner: Mohamed Salah (NFO)

Salah has scored just twice over the last six Gameweeks but his underlying numbers are showing signs of improvement.

As shown in the image below from our Opta Stats Sandbox, no midfielder has attempted more shots in the box (15) or been afforded more 'big chances' (seven) than the Egyptian international over the last six Gameweeks. He is also top for 'Expected Goals' (xG) (3.83).

He is also ranked third for attempted assists (15) with only Longstaff (17) and Foden (19) faring better.

Liverpool have scored seven goals over the last six Gameweeks (15th), but are ranked fourth for shots (92) and top for both 'big chances' (24) and xG (14.14).

Their opponents, Forest, have conceded 11 goals over the same period (13th) and have kept just one clean sheet. The Nottingham side are ranked 16th for shots conceded (87) and 11th for 'Expected Goals Conceded' (xGC) (10.03).

Top FPL Midfielder: Bryan Mbeumo (EVE)

Mbeumo has found the back of the net four times for Man United over the last six Gameweeks, no midfielder has been more prolific.

He is ranked sixth for shots in the box (10) over that period, with only Salah (seven) afforded more 'big chances' than his six. Meanwhile, only Semenyo and Enzo (nine each) have landed more attempts on target than his eight.

Man United have scored 13 goals over the last six Gameweeks with only Man City (14) more prolific. The Red Devils are ranked fourth for shots on target (34) and seventh for xG (10.47).

Their visitors, Everton, have conceded eight goals over the same period (10th) and have kept just one clean sheet. The Toffees are ranked 11th for shots conceded (80) and 17th for xGC (10.97).

Best Budget Midfielder: Ismaïla Sarr (wol)


Sarr has just two attacking returns over the last six Gameweeks (one goal, one assist) but as the below image from our Match Centre feature shows, over Palace's last five league matches only Mateta (4.4) beats him for xG (1.4) while he is top for attempted assists (six).

Palace have scored eight goals over the last six Gameweeks (11th), but are ranked fifth for 'big chances' (20) and sixth for xG (11.86).

Their hosts, Wolves, have conceded 13 goals over the same period with only Burnley (14) more porous. The Midlands side are ranked 16th for shots conceded (87) and 12th for xGC (10.25).

Best Forward Pick: Danny Welbeck (BRE)

Welbeck has scored six goals over as many Gameweeks, only Haaland (eight) has been more prolific over that period. As shown in the image below from our Opta Stats Sandbox, the former England international has been afforded five 'big chances' with only Woltemade (six), Thiago, Mateta (11 each) and Haaland (12) faring better.

Brentford have scored 11 goals over the last six Gameweeks with only Villa (12), Man United (13) and Man City (14) faring better. The Bees are ranked sixth for shots in the box (58) and fourth for xG (12.19).

Their visitors, Brentford, have conceded seven goals over the same period (sixth) and have kept one clean sheet. The Bees are ranked eighth for shots conceded (65) and sixth for xGC (8.12).

Top Defensive Asset: Virgil van Dijk (NFO)

Virgil has yet to find the back of the net in the league this season, the Dutch international has had four shots in the box and been afforded two 'big chances'.

He has accumulated 119 DEFCON with only Senesi (141) faring better amongst defenders.

Liverpool have struggled defensively with 12 goals conceded over the last six Gamweeks (16th), but did keep a clean sheet in their last two home games against Villa and Real Madrid. They are ranked 12th for shots conceded (81) and 19th for xGC (12.63).

Their visitors Forest have scored just five goals over the last six Gameweeks, only Wolves (four) have fared worse. The Nottingham side are ranked 14th for 'big chances' (nine) and 13th for xG (7.91).
