Top Five Key Players for Fantasy Premier League 2025/26 Gameweek 4

Each week, we’ll highlight the top picks to help you make the smartest moves for your FPL team.

FPL Headliner: Mohamed Salah (bur)

Salah has made a relatively quiet start to the season by his high standards, returning just one goal and one assist across the opening three fixtures. The Egyptian has managed only four shots in the box and created four chances so far.

However, as shown in the Player Heatmaps feature below, his away form last season was outstanding. He averaged 10.1 points per game on the road, while no player could better his away 'Expected Goals' (xG) tally of 17.15.

Liverpool have scored eight goals over the opening three Gameweeks (first) and are top for shots on target (17).

Their hosts Burnley have conceded six goals, with only West Ham and Wolves (eight) faring worse. The Clarets are bottom for both shots in the box conceded (38) and 'Expected Goals Conceded' (xGC) (6.61).

Haaland has scored three goals over the opening three Gameweeks, as shown in the below image from our Opta Stats Sandbox he is top for shots in the box (13), 'big chances' (six) and xG (2.91).

Man. City have scored five goals (fourth) this season and are ranked second for 'big chances' (eight) with only Chelsea (12) faring better.

Their cross-town rivals Man. Utd. have conceded four goals so far (eighth) and have kept no clean sheets. The Red Devils are ranked fourth for shots in the box conceded (20) and 10th for xGC (4.12).

Best Midfielder: Antoine Semenyo (BHA)

Semenyo has found the back of the net twice over the first three Gameweeks and is top amongst midfielders for shots in the box (nine), 'big chances' (five) and xG (2.37).

Bournemouth have scored four goals this season (eighth), the Cherries are ranked third for shots in the box (31) and fourth for xG (5.19).

Their visitors Brighton have conceded four goals (eighth) and have kept no clean sheets. The Seagulls are ranked third for shots in the box conceded (19) and ninth for xGC (4.12).

Best Forward Pick: Jean-Philippe Mateta (SUN)

Palace will be relying heavily on Mateta to provide the goals with Sarr injured. As shown in the below image from our Opta Stats Sandbox, the French international is joint-top amongst Palace players for shots in the box (three), while only Sarr has been afforded more 'big chances' (two vs three).

Their opponents Sunderland have conceded three goals (fifth) and have kept one clean sheet, the Black Cats are ranked second for shots in the box conceded (16) and fifth for xGC (3.22).

Top Defensive Asset: Daniel Muñoz (SUN)

Their visitors Sunderland have scored five goals over the same period (fourth) but are ranked 11th for shots on target (nine) and 16th for xG (3.36).
